Tree Thinning

Tree thinning is the selective pruning to reduce density of live branches within the crown of a tree. Various forms of thinning is the most common form of pruning mature trees. Thinning allows wind to pass through the crown of a tree during a storm, or allow sunlight to penetrate to the ground which can be instrumental in the growth of your turf. The best use of crown thinning is to reduce stress on certain limbs from gravity, ice/ snow, or wind, or on branches with structural defects such as overextended long branches, cracks or cavities.
